Parker Dentist Biographies

Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp provide dentistry in Parker and the south metro Denver area.  Choosing a dentist to serve you and your families needs is an important decision and hopefully knowing your doctors background will help you make that decision.

Dr. James DeLapp

Dr. DeLapp is an experienced and highly regarded Parker area dentist with particular interest in esthetic dentistry.  He has been practicing in his home community of south metro area including the Parker area..

Academic Education

Dr. James DeLapp has spent more than a few years obtaining post graduate education.  In addition to his academic degrees he takes five to ten times the amount of continuing education recommended by the Colorado Dental Association. His degrees include:
  • Bachelors of Arts (BA) University of Northern Colorado Biological Science 1975
  • Master of Arts (MA) University of Northern Colorado 1975
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) University of Colorado School of Dentistry 1982
  • Masters in Basic Science (MBS) University of Colorado, Colorado Springs  (1995)

Teaching Responsibilities... practicing what he teaches

Currently, Dr. DeLapp is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. The courses he teaches include:
  • Fixed Prostodontics I and II (crowns and bridges)
  • Esthetic Dentistry ( teeth whitening and dental veneers)
  • Clinical Dentistry
Professional organizations and achievements

Here is a list of Dr.'s DeLapp organization he participates or volunteers in. Every month Dr. DeLapp volunteers at least 32 hour with some months well over 50 hours.  Giving back to the community with his time is important to the Dr.'s DeLapp

Dr. H. Candace DeLapp

Dr H. Candace DeLapp is a dentist practicing in the Parker area who is also an experienced practioner with a special interest in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. DeLapp has been practicing in the south metro area including Parker for the  past 17 years.  Dr. DeLapp began her career in a most unusual fashion.

After high school Dr. DeLapp did not have the opportunity to attend college and started working at the University of Colorado Health Science Center as a clerk typist. Nineteen years later after much work and promotions she was and Administrative Officer in the Department of Neurology in charge of grants and budgets.  She was on of several investigators in the study entitled "Long Term Results Following Prednisone and "Thymectomy in Myasthenia Gravis" which was published in the Journal of Neurology to name a few.  Dr. DeLapp undertook a pre-dental curriculum and is one of the few to be admitted to a professional school without an undergraduate degree

Undergraduate Dental honors

As an undergraduate she was was elected President of her Dental School class for four years and participated in may committees ad the University.

Teaching Responsibilities... practicing what she teaches

Currently Dr. DeLapp is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.,  She is teaching Operative Dentistry (dental fillings)I and II as well as Removable Prostodontics I and II (full and partial dentures) as well and Dental Occlusion.
