What are Dental Veneers?
Dental veneers are thin porcelain or similar material that are bonded onto your tooth. These dental veneers have the ability to change not only the color of your tooth but also the shape of your tooth.
It starts with the Smile Design
To see where we need to go with you smile we need to evaluate first where you are. It should be noted that a very few cases many need a combination of treatment (most likely orthodontics) and dental veneers. If the teeth are very crowded in most cases dental veneers only would NOT be the solution. The good news is most of the cases our Parker Dentist sees does not need orthodontics for dental veneers.
Dental imaging and photographic analysis
In addition to taking models of your teeth our Parker area dentist evaluates your smile from digital imaging. This includes the length and width proportion of each tooth. The length to width ratio of the tooth typically runs 0.80. What this means is your front teeth should not look like a square in which the length and width are the same.
Diagnostic Wax-up
Our Parker cosmetic dentist then sends models of your teeth to the dental laboratory for the fabrication of a diagnostic wax-up. In essence it allows us to work your case through to see what the three dimensional outcome will be. It also provides us a model in which to make you dental veneer temporaries from.
You make the decision
Once we have the diagnostic wax-up back you decide if and when you wish to proceed. We review informed consent for the procedure and review the cost and time involved. Our goal is to meet and exceed your expectations.
